our advent boxes this year have been simple but sweet. it's been encouraging to watch the boys' excitement for simple things that make up this season.
box 1. picking out the family christmas tree. you have to smell it, touch it, and check it out all over to make sure it's JUST right. then you strap it up like a man and drive it home to string all those lights on it!
we attended the fort mill christmas parade for the first year this year. the boys enjoyed it for the most part. if only it was about 20 degrees cooler...
we are spending our school days making fun snacks and christmasy things like cinnamon ornaments!
one night we acted out the christmas story. it was very humorous to say the least. we had quite the belly laughs that night! here are two shepherds that herded their dolphins, dogs, and horses in the field by fire light.
we did doughnuts and lights early on so we could do it a few more times! never fails to be a hit and with krispy kreme about 2 minutes from our house now we didn't have far to travel to find the hot now sign lit up in all of it's glory.
our first (of what will be many) breakfast in bed took place last friday morning. the boys were absolutely ecstatic. they had a blast and so did matthew and i! will joined us in grey and tuck's room and we kicked back and ate breakfast in the bunk beds.
we had another first this season. we went to a journey to bethlehem saturday evening and it was really neat. we all really enjoyed it. will stole some jewels from the wisemen but thankfully gave them to Jesus at the end.
