bust a move

we sure do like to boogie around here. it's not uncommon to find all five of us breaking it down in the living room after breakfast, lunch, dinner, a morning of school. you name it, we can have a party. sometimes i end up laughing so hard i'm crying.

that tucker gets me every single time.

thanksgiving 2012

what's a thanksgiving day without a treasure hunt, cousins, leaf jumping, and yummy food?!

we got to spend good time with family. my gram is still in rehab at the hospital after breaking her hip. thanksgiving wasn't the same without her at the head of the table. we ALL took her a thanksgiving plate. she appreciated it lots but 5 boys in a hospital room was quite wild.

it's been quite the season of thankfulness for us and i am hoping that turns right around and flows right  into a heart of giving.

feast!

we have really enjoyed studying the beginnings of our nation this thanksgiving season. i've probably enjoyed it the most. i know i learned these things way back when i was a young one but it's totally different reviewing it now through my adult eyes.

we studied the ins and outs of the pilgirim's trip to the US along with the first few years after they landed. we studied a bit of what life was like for the pilgrims and imagined we lived then and how different life would be.

we also studied quite a bit about Squanto and the miraculous journey as our sovereign God weaved his story through history. what an awesome story and picture of God's provision and plan!

we had a feast with all of our friends yesterday to celebrate all that God has done and will do. we are learning better how to be thankful for one another and everything He gives.

the color run

the color run.

with our family.

so much fun!

friday night we went out sans children and enjoyed dinner and dessert and coffee together. truly a special treat for all of us. and we vowed it will have at least happen once a year if not more often. it's just too good to all be together like that.

we woke early, hit starbucks, and froze our buns off waiting to run. it was the happiest 5k on the planet :) it's true what they say. it was pretty happy and messy with a DANCE PARTY at the end. i've never seen my husband break it down like that.

we were smack dab in the middle of the party and there were a few times i lost sight of any light because there was so much color. it was awesome.
