we finally had a weekend just to be home. whew. those are hard to come by these days and there's nothing more that i enjoy more than hunkering down every once and awhile at home with my family. big breakfasts, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows, a date night, sleeping until 7 a.m. with nowhere to be, snuggling up on the couch with matthew to watch white christmas because i have NEVER seen it.
a very sweet (insert sarcasm) friend of our decided to bring us a turtle that was found last week. we named him twinkle toes and the boys have been enthralled with him. of course. we've been feeding him kale and watching him go in and out of his shell for days now. the great thing is we are studying turtles in school this week so he's been quite the addition to our lessons!
grey also had his first soccer game this weekend. we really enjoyed cheering him on and watching him play really hard. he took some hard hits and blocked a lot of balls while playing goalie.
after grey's soccer game we headed over to pick out some vegetables for our fall garden. it was raining, there were monstrous puddles, and there was lots of dirt. tucker and will took advantage of that and ended up riding home almost naked.
then we planted the garden :)
and now it's october!
