our last morning in the city we spent with alexa. (to which i totally butchered the link to her in my last post!)
so many people ask me if i really know her. because she is so cool.
i do know her. i technically used to babysit her. technically, but not really. i more babysat her little brother and she happened to be the coolest big sister anyone could ask for. and i got to spend my summers with her driving her around in my 1990 honda accord.
so that was years ago. but thankfully we got to spend a little time with her.
this was by far my most favorite part of our trip. most favorite.
we met at her apartment in the upper westside which was just dreamy. we wanted to spend a typical saturday morning with her before we had to catch a cab to the airport. so she delivered!
so she took us to good enough to eat for brunch. oh man. yum. the eggs were scrambled to perfection and i let the thick cut bacon melt in my mouth. it was delicious.
and we got to catch up on life which was the best of all.
it was fun being in her world, meandering the streets and hearing of the regulars of her life. seeing her grocery store and her coffee shop and where she does her laundry. eating at her favorite brunch place and wondering the streets she walks for fun.
she took us on a little you've got mail tour. she knows it's one of our favorite movies and she lives in the heart of where it was filmed.
we got coffee at zabars and strolled through an old bookstore.
this part of town was peaceful and delightful.
we took pictures to remember the day and then it was time to go.
what a perfect way to end our vacation. thanks alexa for a wonderful farewell to new york city!
