Milestones are happening.
First off, the Tuck Man has decided that he completely understands using the potty and actually went tee tee today in the big potty! He has been telling me for a while when he has a dirty diaper and the other day I mentioned to him using the potty. Well the next thing I knew he was pulling at his diaper and ran to the bathroom. Sure enough he had to go but the big ol' toilet scared him a bit. He made the connection and we have been taking him every time he has told us since. Today he hit the jackpot and ended up actually going! We threw a mini party (all four of us) in the bathroom complete with cheering and dancing. We'll see if he will continue...
Matthew only has one more week of his Systematic Theology class!!! Woo Hoo! Only one more big paper to write this week and then he has another class under his belt. He is so blessed to be able to take at least one class a semester but it is a whole heck of a lot of work in 8 weeks. With a full time job, one free night a week, and two small children, he has impressed me with his discipline to work hard and learn a whole lot.
Grey Bear and I got to go see Toy Story 3 on ice yesterday. The excitement and fun we had was priceless. Matthew was out of town but a sweet friend kept Tuck so that we could really enjoy the show together. As Grey grows, I realize what a little man he has already become. Spending one on one time with him is obviously important for both of us and so I savored the moments riding the train downtown and watching him enjoy the show. He said "I'm really loving this mommy!" at intermission. The show was great but I truly did enjoy my time with him the most.
I am seeing more and more Grey's ability to learn and process information. It's unreal to me on so many levels. He is memorizing scripture and loves to recall Bible stories for both Matthew and I. They are typically very accurate and in great detail. He is so interested in reading and spelling so I am trying to teach him little bits at a time. Whereas I'm sure all children at his age do this, he is my first child and I am getting to experience it for the first time!
I have begun to feel the little "flutterings" of Baby Number Three in the past week. That's exciting! I also think there's a slight possibility I could be looking a little more pregnant as opposed to just fattenin' up for the winter. Thank goodness. I can feel the Lord preparing me in so many ways for this child. In my heart, my mind, and my actions. Thank goodness again! We will find out next week if we are having another sweet boy or a sweet girl.
I am also so very very very excited about the ways God is stretching me and challenging Matthew and I in the recent days. (more on that to come I'm sure) My time in the Word has been better than ever and therefore I am suffering from a constant attack. BUT I am grateful for the God that is faithful to constantly remind me of truth and be on guard!
Though we don't have much time together, Matthew and I are beginning to take hold of the time we do have. This has involved leaving the T.V. off at night, abandoning our laptops, and spending time talking about eternal things which has also challenged me in many ways. This will continue for sure and am so incredibly grateful for my husband and his heart.
