six!
in your younger years of five, you would come to me and say, "mommy, i'm only five but don't i look like i'm practically six today?!" so now what'll it be young man? seven? eight?
as a newfound six year old you love to ride your bike, play with legos, and do anything active. you like to figure things out and create. you love to wear a tie and take care of your little brothers.
you love with all of your heart.
this year we have spent lots of time together. i've watched you grow from the inside out. i've watched you learn to value relationships. and as you develop more and more i see more clearly the man you will be one day through the little boy you are today.
you are responsible and lead with confidence. you think and plan. you pay attention to everything and don't miss a beat. you keep us all in line. nothing gets by you. i do love this about you.
you still love your momma most and i am savoring it with all i've got. you wear boxers to bed and i can see you turning into a young man before my eyes. you want more responsibility so we give it to you.
you have been so very excited about your sixth birthday to the point you can't get to sleep at night. it's come and we have celebrated you! we are so thankful for you.
and this is a conversation we had just the other day...
me: "what happens when you're six grey?"
grey bear: "well, i'll be taller of course."
so that's that.
